The start of a great adventure... or the game of unknown dangers begins

Ping looked at her again unsure "A... are you sure? It might be... dangerous..." he mumbled

Jane laughed. "Don't worry. I'm careful."

Ping looked at her frowning, not really convinced about it, but in the end he sighed and left her to reach the trees. There he had everything he needed: sticks, rocks and lianas to tie it. He found immediatly a good stick: it was still a bit rough, but working on it it could have been perfect. More difficult was to find a good rock: when he finally foudn a rock that he could use he started to work on it to sharpen it with another rock.

Jane stood up. She had now sat on the grass for one or two hours and she felt really warm. Her thirst was getting stronger. "Ping!", she called to him. "I think we should move on now.", Jane walked back to him slowly.

Ping had worked hard on his weapon, it had took a big amount of time but now he had done: the lance wasn't beautiful, but he made it straight, and the rock was sharp enough to hurt. It had been a good job.
When Jane called him he was still looking at it, trying to understand if he could get it better.
"Oh! Y... yeah... good idea..." he nodded at her when she suggested to move on: he was so focused on his work that he had almost forgotten that she was there with him...

"Did you found everything you needed? We should try to find...", a few steps away from Ping, Jane suddenly stopped walking and talking. She stared into the woods behind Ping. Goodness, why now? "Don't make fast movements, or just stop moving and talking.", she whispered. Her eyes were still on the black woods behind Ping.

Ping didn't have time to reply to her first question when suddenly jane's expression changed and she said to him to stay quiet looking behind him. Slowly he moved her head just as much as he needed to see the in the woods where a big animal was hiding.
He looked again at Jane and, calmly but energetically, he whispered "We have to start to walk slowly away."

Jane nodded slowly and walked backwards. She hoped that this cat had eaten today. Her last meeting with a cat like this wasn't that nice.

Ping followed slowly the girl, still looking sideways at the beast: the animal was still hidden in the trees, still looking at them, but he didn't like his attitude...
He seemed ready to attack...
Built the lance was a good idea, he tightened it in his hand: he had to be ready to use it...
"Keep walking..." he murmured to Jane, doing the same

Jane nodded. She was still walking backwards. Jane was tempted to look over her shoulder, but the glance in the eyes of the cat made her change her mind. She bit her lip. One wrong move and the beast would attack. There was a suffocating tense in the air. Suddenly Jane's eyes grew bigger. She was tripping over a little stone. AS she fell Jane closed her eyes and wished the cat hadn't seen it.

As soon as jane fell Ping tightened more the lance in his hand: normally he would have helped her but now, if he really wanted to be helpful, he had to be ready to the jaguar's move.
And the animal didn't make him wait for long: as soon as Jane fell he got ready and jumped toward them, attacking.
Ping waited until the right moment, his heart pumping blood fastly, focused on the jaguar's movements and, when the moment came, he turned suddenly striking the animal's shoulder and making him jump hurted back.
The animal didn't lose time and jumped again on his legs, growling.
Ping, still with the lance in his hand, put himself between the beast and Jane

Jane looked in the sky and blinked. She must have been knocked out for a few seconds. Jane sat up and hold her head. She had a light headache. Then her view fell on Ping between her and the jaguar. He was standing in front of her in a protecting pose. Jane looked at the jaguar and gasped. This cat was amazing. She wished she had her drawing book with her. JAne stood up and still looked at the angry cat. "Please, don't kill her.", she whispered to Ping.

Ping was still fosuced on the jaguar, ready to his next attack.
Jane's words disoriented him: was she serious? Why? Why should he be careful to not kill him? That animal was dangerous...
but with a sigh he simply replied "I'll try" before the animal attacked once more jumping toward him: he, again, hitted him with the lance, trying to not hit him in a vital point.
He hurted one of his legs, but in the fast fight even the jaguar menaged to hurt his left arm, even if, in that moment, he didn't realize it: he was still too focused on the animal that rolled a few steps away from them.

Jane looked from Ping to the jaguar and back. She did realize that both of them were hurt, but she thought about an idea, how to get rid of the cat without killing her. She bit her lip. What could she do?

The animal was hurted, and she didn't seem really intentioned to attack again, but she was still there and Ping wasn't sure that she had already give up...
Suddenly he had an idea: fastly he grab a rock from the ground and launched it to the jaguar.
The beast jumped and wasn't hitted, but seemed disoriented...
maybe it was a rough idea, but it could work...

Jane was still undecided. What should she do? She had a deep urge to touch that cat, but her head told her that this would be the most worse idea she could have. Jane made a few steps forward.

As soon as Ping noticed what Jane was doing he grabbed her for a wrist and pulled her to himself.
The jaguar had noticed their movements and moved himself to attack again: Ping couldn't allow the beast to jump on them, she could hurt Jane...
SO, as soon as the jaguar arrived close enough, he hitted her again with the lance: the jaguar fell again, and when she raised she seemed intentioned to leave...

Jane blushed, as Ping pulled her closer to him. She fell on his chest and blushed even more. "Uhm...", she pushed him away, forgetting that the jaguar was still around.

Ping was too focused on the big animal that was still loking at them. Only when the animal finally left, he re-started to breath and realized what he had done and what Jane's reaction had been. He blushed even more then the girl and, trying to hide it, he made a few steps away and recovered his lance that had fell on the floor, then, trying to seem more confident but without the courage to look her in her eyes, he asked
"Are you ok?"

Jane nodded, still with a slight red face. "Uhm... We should go further, right?", she asked.

Ping nodded mumbling a "Yes..." and started to walk in another direction respect the one that the jaguar had chosen. His arm was bleeding and was hurting a bit, but he was used enough to the pain and didn't even bothered himself to check.

Jane followed Ping slowly. She lifted her head slightly and saw the blood running down his arm. "OH!", she took his wrist and pulled him to her. "Does it hurt?", Jane pointed at the wound. "Let me help you!", she ripped off a stripe from her dress and wrapped it around his arm. "This might help, till we find water..."

She couldn't hide a grimace of pain when Jane took his wrist, but didn't say anything, when she asked it it hurted he replied embarassed "It's nothing, don't worry..." but she decided however to help him. He followed her movements, a little surprised and still embarassed, whispering a "Thank you" when she finished "w-we should continue... to walk..." he continued, still avoiding her glance

"Sure!", Jane smiled softly, now walking next to Ping. "Why are you this shy?", she finally asked curious. Jane couldn't remember doing something that would make him shy like this. And he was a man right? Or was there something wrong with him?

Her direct question almost paralyzed him: even more embarassed, he searched a way to avoid the question "i-i think t-that might be s-some water in that direction" he said pointing ahead and walking faster. Actually, there was water's noise...
