Fall of Humanity

With shaking, broken steps Tulio made his way to the edge of the waterfall. Swet was trickling down his face, and his heavy breath made it hard to stand still. It wasn't just from climbing the wall, but from the sprint he had begun as soon as Rose was out of sight. His vision was blurry from tears and so he dared not take another step over the edge in fear he would fall off.
The strong current was threatening to tilt his weak legs and send him into a mercyful death as he hit the rocks at the bottom of the fall. For a moment Tulio considered what he would do of his given life, almost desperatly wanting to let the current take him.
"Oh Lord in the Heavens, what is my purpose without her?" he prayed silently before he stepped backwards away from the ledge, fighting the current with each step he took, but with a determined expression he stopped. Gained speed. And jumped off the ledge into free fall. He had jumped too far to hit the rocks positioned directly underneath the falls, but he somewhat still hoped the sudden blow of the water would hit him unconscious and drown him, never having to wake to see another dreadful day.
He closed his eyes whilst falling, resigned to his faith, and though it seemed an eternity had passed before he could reach the water he finally did. It seemed a cruel awakening from his peaceful fall, and the pain that struck him with the water seemed so unbearable he gasped, in an instant breathing in water. As if the Heavens had heard his silent prayers his pain quickly subdued and gave way to an allconsuming darkness. As he took his last glance on the world around him he could only hope no human soul would find him before the angels got to him. Even washed up on the shore as he was sure he would be soon, he comforted his mind knowing no one usually came here, and especially not in the morning moments of the day.

Jane walked along the waterfalls to get her head clear. She looked around and enjoyed the beauty of nature around her. It was always easy to make her smile. The bright sun shining on her hair and skin. Jane walked to the rocks near the waterfalls and sat down. A person at the top of the falls caught her eye. She looked fascinated at the person and waited. As she jumped down, Jane raised an eyebrow. What was this person supposed to do?
As the fall got faster and Jane saw who it was, she jumped on her feet. "Tulio!", she ran to the water and stared at it. She waited a few seconds for him to appear on the water surface. Then she undressed herself immediately and jumped into the waterfall. Jane dived deep into the water, before she caught Tulio and wrapped her arms around him. It was hard to swim back to the surface with all the wet clothes on and the water from above pushing her down. Her head broke through the surface and she gasped for air.
Jane pulled Tulio behind her out of the water on the green grass. She searched for some pulse and his breath. "HELL TULIO!", she shouted at him, more in panic than angry. Jane bent down to him and tried to get him back with mouth to mouth ventilation. As he coughed water, she turned him on the side and let him vomit all the water in his lungs. "That's good, don't stop, get it all out of you.", Jane stroke her wet hair behind her ear and sighed. "I should kill you now. Scaring me like this."

As Tulio felt an overpowering feeling of pain and his stomach wretching he was sure he had died and gone to Hell. It was of no surprise after hurting God's most perfect creation to such a point, and he welcomed the place. Anywhere would be painful without Rose and Heaven or Hell no longer mattered to him. He did not care where his afterlife was spent.
As his vision returned to him however he recognized the familiar grass beneath his own vomit and realized his plans had not worked. Annoyed he looked up at the woman who had saved him, resentful that she had not just let him drown. However, he could not stay mad with her when he realized she had done it out of worry, and not to further torture him. She had saved him.
"Please do," he said, but his words were muffled by more gagging and coughing as his body desperatly tried to rid itself of the water and the pain.

Jane knocked softly on his back and just overheard his words. "There is nothing worth on earth dying for.", was all she answered by staring at his back. As his coughs were getting less and less, she stood up and walked to the place she dropped her dress. Jane took it up and walked back to TUlio. She sat again down next to him, her dress next to her. Jane didn't even made an attempt to put it back on. "Do you feel better now? Physically? Mentally your more hurt I guess.", she smiled sadly and wrapped her arms around her legs.

He couldn't focus on her words. The world still seemed a blurry place, and his ears made everything sound like a blur. It took him a while to come to his senses, but even then he wished he hadn't, for with his awareness came the intense pain the fall had caused his bones, and he was sure he had broken his left leg, it seemed to hurt more than anything else. Without hospitals or other nearby clinics he would probably have no where to turn to either, and he thought it would have been better if she had simply let him die. Exhausted and weak, instead of answering her, he turned from the vomit and collapsed by her feet, aware and concious, but far too weak and in far too much pain to move or talk.

Jane at him worried as he collapsed next to her. He wasn't vomiting water anymore, but why was he so weak? Well, his near death experience must have been exhausting. She bend over him and touched his forehead with her hand. "You're not going to get a fever, do you?", she asked worried. Did she oversee something? Something she couldn't see, because it was underneath his wet clothes? Jane bit her lip. She shook her head. Better she took a look, before he died anyway. Then it wouldn't make a sense why she saved him. Jane took a deep breath and started to turn off his wet clothes. It wasn't that easy, though he didn't helped a lot. Jane's breath was going heavy and she sat down. "Boy, you need to help me. Just a bit.", she knew it would be easier, if someone else was around. But there wasn't and she was glad about that. Jane took off his pants as the last piece of clothes on his body and looked at him. "On the upper body there's no blood. Gladly...", she mumbled. Her view flew to his lower body and she sighed. No blood at all.
Jane lifted her hand and touched his legs. Maybe something was broken. He was really thin right now. A few minutes later Jane frowned. She didn't knew if the left leg was broken or not, but it didn't felt good. She sighed. The attempt fixing it, could wake him up. Jane bit her lip but then stood up. His clothes were to wet and short to cover his whole body, so she put up her dress and layed it on him. "Just stay here, I'll be back fast."
Jane walked to the nearby forest and searched for a stick, long enough for the leg, so she could fix it. She found one, not that good but better than the other ones. "Might work for a few hours...", Jane walked back thinking. She sat down next to Tulio's left leg and closed her eyes. "I'm sorry for everything that happens now...", she grabbed his leg with both her hands and turned it into the right direction. The sweat was dripping down her face, but she didn't stop. Later she took the stick and positioned it against the leg. Jane ripped some stripes of her dress, which was still laying on Tulio and bound it on the leg and stick. Hopefully this would help, till she got him back to the tree however and could help him more than this.
Jane stood up and walked to the waterfalls. She took a few sips of water till seh walked back to Tulio and sitting next to him again. She didn't take care of her wet clothes and the sweat running down her body, while she sat in the sun. It wasn't healthy for her body, but Tulio had all her attention now.

Tulio laid still on the ground for several minutes just to recover his strength, but once he had he did not hesitate sitting up. For the first time he looked at her properly, realizing it had been Jane who saved him which felt weird as he had thought of her not to like him. Why she now seemed so worried and caring was beyond him and in utter confusion he stared at her for a while.
"Jane.." he said, as if he was surprised it was her. As he kept staring, and his mind came back to him, it became obvious she was sitting only in her undergarment, and looking down on himself so was he. He couldn't help but smile to himself at the knowing he had never been in such a position where this did not lead to something else, but the thought seemed preposterous and he shook it at once, pondering instead on why she of all had chosen to save him.

Jane tilted her head. "Are you feeling better now?", she leaned over to him. "You're not going to get a fever, do you?", Jane asked worried again, touching his forehead with her hand. "Do you want something? Water?", she tried to joke, but smiled sadly instead. She looked up and down at his body, searching for some hurts she might had overseen. "Does this hurt a lot?", she touched his left leg with the temporary bandage gently. "If you need something against the pain, I might go and search some plants...", she frowned.

Tulio shook his head softly, but wincing at the pain in his leg. But it did not matter much, his whole body was aching and yet he could not make himself care. The mental pain was by far a worse suffering than any broken bones could possibly give him.
"Stay," he begged almost pathetically as he laid his hand on her arm to convey the message clearer. Truth be told he did not want to be alone because he did not trust his own mind once he was. He did not want to be alone with his dark thoughts.

Jane sighed and nodded. Moving closer to Tulio and taking his hand in hers. "If you want me to stay... I'll stay.", she smiled at him softly. "Can I ask... can I ask why you jumped off that waterfall? Just if I'm allowed to know...", Jane stayed silent and looked at the water drops who pearled along the rocks and shimmered in the sunlight. There wasn't many people who told her something. Most of the time she stayed unknown. Well, Ping might had her reasons and Shan Yu wasn't better... Even Eris and Rose kept their thoughts within them. Jane sighed. Maybe she was safer this way. Maybe not. "If you really wanted to commit suicide, you should have eaten some of the plants in the forest. It's a safer way to die and easier. It's hard to help you with poison inside your body...", Jane said quiet and lost in her thoughts...

"That's a good idea for next time, thank you," he said, jokingly as he smiled at her trying to show her he was not serious. Deep down however he did not know, a part of him still wanted to die, and another part of him was already dead.
He sighed realizing he would have to answer her, and to do that again rip up the fresh wounds that had brought him here.
"Love is a cruel illusion of the heart in order to numb your mind, designed to kill slowly without notice. Therefore," he said speaking softly. If she had paid attention to his words and the tears in his eyes she would realize he was suffering from a broken heart, and though he did not want to speak of it, or even think along those lines, she had asked and he was not the type to keep secrets. Though Rose had broken everything, torn everything away from him, his morals and hope still remained.

Jane looked for a moment at Tulio with a surprised and shocked face. Then she felt the tears dripping down her cheeks and she pulled Tulio near to her, wrapping her arms around him. "That's true.", she whispered softly. "But no reason to kill yourself. Trust me, there is no reason...", Jane's voice broke slightly at the end, but she smiled softly.

She surprised him, and the shock was obvious on his face. He had no idea what she was going through and could only assume she had experienced the same, and though hesitantly due to shock he wrapped his arms around her as well, wanting to comfort her the way she was comforting him. No woman in the world deserved to feel this way, specially not Jane who had looked past norms of the society to love a beast who could never love her back. He had been upset by this earlier, but realized now it took great bravery and selflessness to do what she had done. Slowly he let his hands run through her hair as if he was comforting a baby, and though he wished nothing more than to cry with her, he could not. His tears had dried up leaving him with nothing but an empty gaze into the horizon. In that moment he went numb as if loosing all his emotion, and he was almost grateful.
"The beauty was never meant for the beast," he whispered softly in her ear. It was not a well-known fairytale and rather new, but it was one that one of his conquests had told him one quiet, moonless night. He trusted that as Jane read as much as she did she might be familiar with it herself, but in either case the words were meaningful in the sense they were true.
Pulling her tighter his body touched hers, feeling her warm bare skin against his own oddly comforting, but he had always known as much. Nothing had ever had more power over him than a female's bare body, except Rose of course, but he sent that thought away.

"But it ended differently, right?", she whispered back. "Life is no fairytale...", Jane leaned her head against Tulio's shoulder and closed her eyes for a moment. Being like this... It was a long time since she felt like this. Being with a friend she could trust. Though they both had some difficulties with each other after they revealed where their hearts belong to, Jane felt a close bond to him. Not like lovers. Just they were similar in so many places. Jane looked up to Tulio's face. Her tears were dry and she smiled softly.

He looked back at her once she did, still confused what to do. He had never been in such a situation without...
"It can be.. if we make it," he smiled kindly down towards her. Though Rose had broken his heart, it was almost a good sorrow to him. To be able to feel, no matter what emotion was a blessing from the Heavens, it was what made them human. And in return God had also granted them happiness. Being this broken now only meant he had been able to feel true, pure happiness before, and for that he was eternally grateful. Stroking away her already dry tears with his thumb, he smiled down at her still.
Lost for actions and words, he leaned down against her and brushed his lips against hers, unknowing of how she would respond. Just knowing that the skin of her body had given him comfort, and for a split second he was able to forget. He wanted that.

Jane's eyes widen in surprise, as she felt his lips against hers. But then they closed and she shyly gave the kiss back. She didn't know what Tulio expected from her, Shan Yu never kissed her that softly. His kisses were more passionately and he wasn't that patient. Jane lifted her hand and touched Tulio's bare chest. She started to like these kind of kisses. Gently she pulled out of the kiss, blushing and looking down. "Uh, I'm sorry... I..."

He didn't pay notice to the fact she had pulled away as he knew she had for more than a split second kissed him back.
"Don't be," he muttered softly as he pulled her up on his lap and let his arms gently wrap around her waist with the ease of a lover. Though he did not love her, the same as with all his woman she needed respect and care, as every woman deserved.
He was careful not to let her sit on his broken leg, and pulled her far up on his lap to prevent her from causing him harm.
Then he loosened a hand from her waist to run behind her neck, pulling her down to him for another hungry kiss. Though this was as soft and tender as the first kiss they had shared, the passion in his semi-opened eyes shone through as he stared at her.

Jane leaned back in his kiss and sighed gently in his mouth. It felt so good. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer to her. Jane pressed her body at Tulio's. Right now she was ignoring the little voice inside her head, telling her this was wrong. Too many things had happened before. In a moment of courage, she opened her mouth and licked his lips with her tongue. Though she was to shy, to try more.

Tulio smiled when her actions became a mixture of shyness and bravery, and acted on her small hints, letting his tounge softly enter her mouth and play with hers. Gently he let his hand slide down her waist and down to her thigh where he very slowly started pulling up her dress. He did not want to frighten her, and if she was to reject him he would not try again.
He laid down on the grass having her lying on top of him, fully in control of the situation, as he wanted her to be. He wanted her yes, but he did not want to pressure her into this. Any actions he wanted to come from her own will as they were now.

Jane gasped surprised, when he layed down, with her on the top. What did he want from her? She never was on top, though she tried when she was with Shan Yu, but he always pushed her back down. It was always Shan Yu who did it like he wanted it. Jane stopped the kiss and stared at Tulio's chest. She was unsure...
She lifted her head and looked in his eyes. Then she leaned back to him and kissed him more passionately. Still she didn't know what to do next. Jane felt stupid, acting like a virgin again. Sadly or more gladly she wasn't with many men yet. She didn't want to be.

He picked up on her hesitant nature, and with a wincing pain from straining his muscles he gently pulled her away from his lips to look at her for a second, simply to understand whether she wanted this or not. He did not wish to do anything she would regret at a later point, but as he looked upon the hunger and passion in her eyes he simply laid her back down against his hard chest, kissing her with the passion she was craving. The passion she was deserving of. He could not understand a man selfish enough to take what he needed, without giving what was wanted in return. Every woman deserved to be happy, worshipped, by man.

Jane kissed him back passionately. Without realizing it, her nails were scratching along his sides. Not to much to hurt him, but strong enough to give him some red stripes. She moaned softly and breathless in his mouth, before her tongue slipped in. Playing with his. Why did it feel so good? She never was in love with Tulio, neither did she love him right now. So why? It made her forget about her troubles and problems so easily. Like he would care. Like anyone would care. Jane pressed her body near to Tulio's. For some reason her remained clothes started to annoy her. She moved slightly.

He let his hands run along the edges of her skirt before letting them raise to the undergarment which was covering her breasts. Whilst looking at her as if she was the most beautiful woman on the planet, as beautiful as only a godess could be, he gently and slowly removed it, leaving her in only her underskirts, before he as softly as a swan feather caressing porcelain laid his hand on her breast, caressing it gently, softly pinching her nipples and carefully watching her expression all the time meanwhile.

Jane leaned forward to his ear. "Stop looking at me like this.", she whispered softly. "It makes me want to slap you and that would disturb the mood, huh?", Jane kissed her way to his face and gave him a small kiss on his lips, before she kissed herself down to his chest. She moaned softly.
