Stepping on Footprints of a Memory Empty
PostSubject: Stepping on Footprints of a Memory   Stepping on Footprints of a Memory EmptyWed Apr 25, 2012 11:35 am

John was sat down against the bough of a tree, leaning beaneath it's cover for shade on the outskirts of the forest, he was finding this rather tedious. For some reason, he felt like a huge abyss was growing inside of him and it made him act unlike any other humans he had met as of yet, he was probably the most similar to Eris out of all those he had encountered. Did that mean he was not human? His head hurt, as if he had thought these thoughts before, ah dear, well, its best not to focus too much on what is and think more about what will be. Looking up at the sky, he noticed the sun was particularly bright today, a nice start to the morning.

PostSubject: Re: Stepping on Footprints of a Memory   Stepping on Footprints of a Memory EmptyWed Apr 25, 2012 11:43 am

Ping was walking on her own in the forest, her arch shouldered with a couple of arrows and a dead bunny in her right hand. She had came back to the tree only to recover her weapon, and she had put a lot of attention to not be seen: she didn't want to see anybody, talk to anybody or have to explain anything to anybody. She was living in the forest, again: she had spent more time in the forest than in any other place since her arrival. Luckily for once Eris had decided to not bother her. She was walking, searching for a place to stop to cook and eat the bunny, but she wasn't giving too much attention to where she was going, she wasn't that hungry and walk helped her to stop thinking, so she neither noticed John, even if she was walking right toward him.

"Good day," John noticed the approaching woman and nodded politely in her direction, he noticed she had caught a bunny and instantly noted she must be a fair hunter. "Hobby of yours?" He gestured towards the rabbit in her hand. "Or simply peckish?" He was attempting at making conversation but since the deal with Eris, his social skills had been more than a little awkward. A man with no emotions cannot be tactful.

Ping litterally jumped in fear as soon as she hard John's voice, taking fastly and instinctlively the arch in her hands and pointining an arrow at him, letting the bunny fall on the ground. Only when she calmed down, realizing who was in front of her, she breathed again normally, putting slowly away again the weapon and recovering the bunny "Both" she replied, feeling uncomfortable and without know if she should have just run away to avoid any kind of conversation...

John stared for a few moments at the odd woman, simply rather bemused at her reaction to his sudden appearance. Even though he had been sat there all along whilst she was approaching him. What a strange little female. "I see," He nodded, only catching the one word of what she had said. He smiled in attempt to make her feel more comfortable. "Want to take a seat?" He patted the grass next to him with his right hand, he might aswell have some company on this sunny day. He needed some sort of rationality after encountering two babbling baboons of the human race.

At his proposal she swallowed, undecided: she wasn't really tempted to stay, she had been fine on her own, and the idea that him like now everyone else on the island knew that she was actually a woman made her feel even more uncomfortable than usual. But in the end she nodded and sat down a few steps away from him, putting the bunny on the grass next to her: she looked at the dead animal, wondering if that was a good moment to cook it, maybe sharing the food would have stopped the man to ask her questions...

"Your quite interesting, you know?" John paused, looking at her analytically, she seemed to dress more manly than most, yet her features were distinctively feminine. His tone indicated he did not particularly view this statement as socially unacceptable, his lack of emotions made it difficult to judge what was appropriate, and to care what was appropriate. "So, where are you staying?" He asked intrigued, he barely had many memories of the tree where the others stayed, unbeknownst to him, it was because most of his time there he had spent with Rose, and now Rose had been wiped from his memory.

When he defined her 'interesting' she looked at him frowning surprised: she didn't got if he was teasing her or not... Why would he find her 'interesting'? What there was 'interesting' in her? Unless interesting in his vocabulary meant odd or weird, she didn't get how he could see her as 'interesting'...
At his question she shrugged and, in a low tone, she replied "wherever it happens... in the forest..." it didn't even worth mention the room's number: she had stayed there only a few times and she didn't even sleep here once, and now she had even less intention to come back...
Looking again at the bunny she asked to him in a flat tone "Are you hungry?"

John nodded, becoming even more interested as she mentioned how she generally fended for herself in the forest. "Oh," He smiled at her, rather intrigued. "Well, you certainly are interesting," He pondered over her words. "May I ask, why is that? Why do you stay in the forest?" He couldn't help but wonder, most humans preferred safety in numbers and somewhere specific to call home. It was unsual at the least. "Now that you mention it, I am a little," He nodded with a smile, not sure if she was gesturing for them to consume the rabbit together, or whether she was simply asking out of interest.

When he refered again to her with the word 'interesting' she frowned again, and still frowned she replied to his question, staring at the grass in front of her "Feral animals are l-less dangerous than some people..." it wasn't a big explanation, but she didn't want to say more. Luckily the fact that he was hungry as well gave her a good opportunity to raise up again to prepare a fire "then you can wait here or help me, it's up to you..." she replied, still without looking at him, searching around if there was something to turn up a fire...

John nodded in agreement, the woman was definately right there. "I shall accompany you," He stood up to go with her and offered her his hand. "Thank you for your hospitality," He thanked her, though not being entirely bothered either way. "By what name should I call you?" He asked, deciding introductions should probably be made sooner rather than later.

She nodded to him, but when he offered her his hand she just shook slightly her head stutteding lowly a "no thanks...".
At his question she looked at him just for one moment with a torned glance, then, looking away again, she replied "My name is Ping".

"Ping?" John smiled, interesting was definately the right word. Ping, as a girls name? He was a little unsure about this one. When she declined his hand, he simply shrugged and waited for her to stand on her own before they would head off to find something useful with which to cook the rabbit.

She nodded when he pronounced her name, and again didn't look at him: she didn't know if he had seen the announce on the cave and... now didn't even care. It couldn't do a lot of difference. She didn't say a word, she had never been really talkative: instead she looked around, and when she noticed some twigs good enough to realize a fire she started to pick them

"Your a quiet one?" John spoke up, wondering after they had been collecting twigs for a while why she was not speaking. "Are you alright?" He wondered aloud as they had now built a decent sized looking pile, he began to rub the sticks together to make fire. Instantly one caught alight and he almost surprised himself, maybe this was a clue to his past. Maybe he was an explorer of some kind or something, he sighed. Everything was guesses though, not that he particularly cared anymore.

She simply nodded, slightly embarassed, at the first John's question, positioning the twings in the best way to take fire, and, at his second question, she simply whispered a "yes..." it was a lie, and an evident one too, but she had tried with all herself to avoid even to think about her problems, she wasn't going to tell any of them to a stranger... while he started to think about the fire, she started to cut away the rabbit's skin...

John's eyes focussed on the fire as it lit up, he couldn't place his fingers on it, what this growing emptiness inside of him was. Why it was there... He sighed. He had no idea what to really do about it, and he wasn't upset about it, he had no emotions to be upset with, it simply bothered him slightly.

"You don't sound so sure?" John raised an eyebrow in Ping's direction.

His phrase took her by surprise and made her loose concentration right when she was finishing to cut away the skin from the animal, and she finished to cut a bit even herself. Without a word she tighetened her fisrt, and only a few seconds after she took the rabbit and handed it to John "C-can you put it on the f-fire?" she asked, totally avoiding his question

"Of course," John placed the rabbit on the fire. "You didn't answer my question?" John looked at Ping uncertainly, he wasn't one to be tactful as already should be clear to the woman.

"Have you cut yourself?" It was then John realised he had heard a short gasp from Ping coinciding with one usually associated with pain from a physical wound, his power again gave him this knowledge. Looking closer, he saw she had cut her finger. "Hold it right there," He looked at her warily, not trusting her not to run off. He was only gone a few moments before he had returned with a specific type of leaf, he had no idea how he had this knowledge, but his only explanation could be his previous life. Taking Ping's hand, he held the leaf gently against her hand. "It should stop the bleeding," He nodded, it was not bleeding particularly but she seemed so delicate at this moment he thought she may break with the slightest injury. He needed his company to be in fair health.

"T-then maybe I-I just d-d-don't wanna a-answer..." she replied without looking at him, trying to seem confident but stuttering didn't help her a lot in it.
When he asked her if she had cutted herself she tried to deny it, but he had already noticed it: she waited there like he asked her to do, more for the curiosity and the surprise than for anything else.
She was even more surprised and had a chill through her spine when he took her hand to medicate it, and as soon as he finished she kept back her hand, stuttering and embarassed "T-thanks..."
